The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Car You're Dreaming Of

It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was teaming up with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole destination where enthusiasts can experience the world of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. That said, whether players will actually want to equip it is another question, as there's only one Simpsons car the community is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.

The Dream Vehicle

While many gamers would absolutely enjoy to face off behind the wheel of Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical automobile the patriarch built personally in the classic episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. Not even getting the massive SUV, the heavy-duty vehicle featured in season 10. Rather, players will obtain the Simpsons' everyday well-worn four-door, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Even though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it remains an iconic element of the show. For those who analyze the game's vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

Additional Themed Cosmetics

But that's not the only customization item from the show arriving in Rocket League. The event will also include a set of objectives to earn additional rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a official announcement, the challenges will require players to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ house, and drive a distance worthy of acquiring the ideal pastries!"

While the full lineup of earnable items isn't yet revealed, here is what has been confirmed so far:

  • Blinky topper
  • Homer's Hedges player banner
  • Garbage-themed wheels
  • 20,000 experience points for each challenge

Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it appears fans will also receive wheels featuring a television showing The Simpsons' title sequence, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and rocket boosts themed to burning tires and Krusty's famous restaurant.

Launch Dates and Crossover Details

This event coincides with the extensive Simpsons invasion of Fortnite's island, which includes a brand-new playable area of Springfield, as well as a 30-day Battle Pass. This special Rocket League and Simpsons event begins on Saturday, Nov. 1 and concludes on Nov. 17.
