Iran is ready to resume nuclear negotiations with Washington as long as it is approached with "dignity" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has stated.

The Iranian diplomat said only diplomacy worked, and shared fresh requests had originated from go-betweens to restart talks with the American leadership. He asserted Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to allow the UN nuclear inspectorate to visit bombed nuclear sites for security reasons.

Navigating a Challenging Route

Araghchi is walking a challenging route since Iran aims to avoid be perceived to be acting from a position of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out stronger in military terms and mentally from the coordinated strike on its enrichment centers in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel within its borders that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the stalemate in the earlier negotiations.

Previous Discussions Suddenly Ended

Following this, Western states exercised their authority to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran insists they have not had a substantial consequence.

Perfect Agreement Proposed

Iranian officials said they felt they had attained a "magic solution" to the nuclear fuel concern in previous talks, when it was settled an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could enrich uranium. Each party would have been able to assert triumph since home-based processing would have remained and the US could be confident that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

It had not been agreed in the talks that US nuclear scientists could function within Iranian territory, but that was a reasonable assumption of the consortium proposal. In what is described by Iran's diplomats as the battle of restoration and reconstruction, the foreign minister claimed he was assured Iran's security strengths "are much stronger than before 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been reestablished. We gained multiple understandings from this engagement; we have identified our personal limitations and the shortcomings of the enemy."

He stated: "We effectively endured this war. Our atomic expertise, which they planned to eliminate, remains in place. The installations and machinery, if eliminated, will be rebuilt; what is essential is the resolve of the nation of Iran and then the social solidarity that they targeted, but did not succeed to shatter. The Iranian people have developed more resilient, more united, and more supportive of the government and the country in the wake of this attack."
